Sri Adi Shankaracharya composed poems in praise of Rama and Sita. Sri Yakshamma hailed by the name Yaksha Madhava was a crucial figure during his stay at Dwaraka. When and who has written the actual Hanuman Chalisa?
Since the original work never came to be known, no one knows when or where it originated. It is believed that Sri Raghunatha Bhatta (1013–1070) wrote the latest version of Hanuman Chalisa which later got published by another scholar Birudaraka in 1424 A.D. His name appears on every page of this manuscript with his annotations. The Gaudiya Vaishnavas, therefore, understand him to be a direct descendant of Sri Adi Shankaracharya. The book “Gaudiyamala Muhavrajya” written in the 1950s also refers to this Yaksa Madhava as Raghunatha Bhatta
