The ACTUAL “Halo Theme Song” lyrics?
I’ve played all parts of Halo except for Halo 2 in my entire life yet. I kinda never picked it up to be honest, though I’ll play it as soon as it goes live on MCC for PC.
Anyway, I was watching a video with all the cutscenes, and I found one thing. In this video around 26:01 Master Chief and Cortana go to a hologram of the prophet who is spreading some covenant propaganda. As it seems, the prophet doesn’t “talk” to others in their language, but instead “sings” this propaganda, and it’s a sung version of this part of the theme song. Cortana then enables this translation while the prophet is singing, so Master Chief understands what is being said.
That’d mean that the Halo theme song, what we hear as this choir-like singing, is covenant propaganda with the actual text. It also makes more sense instead of having a random choir-like singing, especially since Halo is quite a detailed game with large detailed lore and many hidden things. So, as I’m not much invested in Halo’s lore yet, has there ever been a point where the entire text was mentioned? Or at least the part we hear in the theme song?

I am sure you know the song and most of us have listened to it many times. It is called “Halo Theme”. The original version was composed by Michael Salvatori and Billie Joe Armstrong with lyrics written by Peter Gabriel.
The first time I heard this song was in 2004 on Halo 2, I don’t remember the video, but the theme song got stuck in my head for weeks!

Where did the Halo theme song come from?
The Halo theme song was composed by Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori. The lyrics were written by Bungie Software’s lead writer, Dan Liebman.
This iconic tune has been a part of the first-person shooter (FPS) franchise since it debuted in 2001 on Microsoft’s Xbox video game console. The same year, Bungie released “Halo: Combat Evolved” to critical acclaim and commercial success; it became one of the best-selling video games ever released at that time.
When Microsoft acquired Bungie in 2007, they retained rights to use the music from their games for advertising purposes. As such, the game company created an ad campaign that featured many clips from their previous games with Halo’s theme song playing in the background; this was designed to promote sales of Halo 3 on Xbox 360 console among hardcore gamers who would be familiar with all of Bungie’s previous work (which included Marathon 2: Durandal).
With millions of downloads over its lifespan, “Halo Theme” is considered one of most recognizable pieces of music in history; it was also named as IGN’s 8th Greatest Video Game Music

by GamesRadar magazine. A remix version titled “Halo Remix” appears on several compilations including “Halo Hits”, Volumes 1 & 2 which were both released around 2008/2009 respectively by Virgin Records America Incorporated and Haloflaxion Records LLC
